I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. My research focuses on the institutions and systems that hold firms and managers accountable. My current projects focus on the design of securities enforcement and corporate governance. I also am interested in questions related to financial accounting and disclosure. My research is primarily conducted using archival methods. In my research, I seek to provide evidence that informs the public and is of practical value to policymakers, firms, and other researchers.Â
Prior to returning to school for my PhD, I worked as a CPA for three years at KPMG in Denver, Colorado. I audited both public and private firms, primarily in the financial services sector. I hold a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
